Bank Examiner:  The Department of Banking and Consumer Finance is seeking someone to fill the position of bank examiner. The work requires knowledge of lending and bank operations. Chief Credit Officer: 

Administer the bank’s loan policies and practices.  Develop and recommend loan policies and credit risk review policies and procedures.   Manage the lending officers of the bank along with recommending their annual goals to the Chief Executive Officer.  Identify credit risk situations and provide guidance to loan officers and support staff.  Is the cornerstone in coordinating the bank’s underwriting, delinquency follow-up and loan portfolio reporting to the Board of Directors and all appropriate regulatory agencies.

 

  1. Oversee the bank’s loan portfolios as to risk management loan considerations to maintain quality control and minimize losses.
  2. Oversee the review and interpretation of new and pending laws and regulations that potentially affect the bank’s credit practices.
  3. Keep the Chief Executive Officer and Loan Committee Chairman informed of any material considerations affecting the loan portfolio, loan policy and unusual individual loan transactions of significant size.  Report findings to Director Loan Committee.
  4. Coordinate the development or revisions of policies, procedures, and agreements to ensure compliance with regulatory process.  Ensure that loan policy exceptions are properly approved, documented, and reported as appropriate.
  5. Review and analyze all credits greater than specified amount prior to Director Loan Committee approval.  Determine if credits meet sound underwriting standards and do not pose greater-than-normal risk.
  6. Provide advice and guidance to the bank’s loan officers and staff.  Consult with Chief Executive Officer as to risk on complex or unusual loan relationships.  Review lending policies of the bank to ensure regulatory statutes are met.
  7. Coordinate with Chief Executive Officer, Note Department Supervisor and Compliance Officer regarding examination of lending practices and compliance with banking and lending regulations.
  8. Resolve credit policy issues identified internally or by the regulators by coordinating due diligence efforts with appropriate staff, including the Chief Executive Officer.
  9. Monitor loan concentrations in relations to the Bank’s capital (bucket report). 
  10. Provide daily oversight for collection and lending officers.

    Qualifications:

  11. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of coursework and/or work experience
  12. Extensive commercial lending experience, and progressive managerial experience in credit policy, analysis, and regulatory practice
  13. Strong communication and presentation skills
  14. Strong managerial skills

Commercial Lender / Business Banker, NW Mississippi / SW Tennessee: We are looking for an experienced Commercial Lender to join our team.  This position is responsible for soliciting prospective clients, servicing existing clients, underwriting and originating a variety of small business/commercial loans and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships in compliance with established guidelines. This individual should succeed in working in a positive, team-oriented environment, contributing to the success of the bank and surrounding communities. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; 2 years’ minimum Commercial Lending experience; Strong business development, customer relations and decision making skills essential; Strong organizational skills and communication skills (oral & written) required; Ability to analyze and summarize complex financial information and present information in a committee setting; Ability to travel to meet with clients as needed. Credit Analyst: Responsible for the preparation and review of borrowers and related parties cash-flow spreads. Responsibilities include reviewing borrowers and shareholders to determine parties to include in global cash-flow. Entering tax returns, financial statements, debt service totals and utilizing spread software to analyze borrower’s repayment ability and documenting in executive summary form to communicate with lender and loan committee. Personal Trust Administrator: Location, TBD. Bank Trust Department seeking a professional to serve as a Personal Trust Administrator. This position will be responsible for all aspects of management and administration in a group of accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, initial account set-up, daily administrative functions such as deposits, withdrawal and transfers, account reviews, ensure documentation is collected and placed in the file timely and accurately, and documented contact with clients. The administrator will work with external clients, an internal team of associates, bank management and both internal and external examiners. Must adhere to all established rules, regulations and guidelines governing bank and trust company activities; report and take corrective action for any non-compliant items or issues when necessary. Requirements: College degree or related work experience in trust administration, familiarity with Microsoft office, ability to work in a team setting, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to learn and strong problem solving abilities. Senior Loan Officer, Richton: South Mississippi bank seeks a senior loan officer with small business and consumer lending experience with preference given to a person with a seasoned loan portfolio. Candidate must have a minimum of five years of banking experience and have technical skills for loan analysis and overseeing all aspects of the lending process. Trust Administrator Job Description: A bank located in the Jackson Metropolitan area is looking for a professional who is familiar with the internal policies and procedures of a bank trust department.  This position is responsible for proactive trust account management including account set up, periodic account review and ongoing customer support. This position will manage and administer a group of trust accounts within the parameters of departmental policy and procedures and state law; Establish and maintain strong working relationships with your team, intermediaries, clients and client advisors; Review legal and financial document as required.  Conduct regular account reviews and discussions with client; Maintain your client’s files in an orderly manner, ensuring documents are filed correctly and in a timely manner; Will be responsible for the daily administration of customer accounts. Examples of daily administration would include but not limited to tracking dates and deadlines, timely deposit, withdrawal and transfer of funds, and tax worksheet preparation. This position will work with auditors, both internally and externally, to facilitate any required examinations of customer accounts. Requirements: Four-year college degree in a related field or equivalent work experience as a Trust administrator required.  Graduate degree not required but a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Demonstrates an enthusiasm and aptitude for learning.  Works collaboratively and is a team player.  Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and communication skills, both written and spoken. Trust Operations Specialist: Location, TBD. Bank Trust Department seeking a Trust Operations Associate to provide daily operational support to Trust Officers and Administrators as needed, as well as provide support for various operational functions within the department.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing for of all trades and income collection activities for domestic accounts, balancing processes, securities-free receipt and deliveries, security master set up, accounting-related functions including all vault-related activities, all note and liability payments and all fee-related activities.
  • Respond to internal and external client requests in a timely manner. Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliation reports. Process and respond to all FinCEN and USA PATRIOT Act inquiries. Adhere to all established rules, regulations and guidelines governing bank and trust company activities; report and take corrective action for any non-compliant items or issues when necessary.
  • Work independently to perform complex transactions on the trust accounting system. Perform all necessary research and due diligence to resolve problems and proactively contribute to long-term solutions and process enhancements.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting platforms, preferably FIS platforms is beneficial. Two (2) years’ experience in banking/financial service industry or college degree.
