Meet the Presenters:

James Ballentine, Executive Vice President of Congressional Relations and Political Affairs for the American Bankers Association (ABA).
James has been involved in banking and public policy for over 30 years. A 20 year veteran of ABA, he leads the association’s Congressional Affairs and lobbying team and is responsible for managing and directing ABA’s legislative and political operations.
Prior to his current duties, James served as ABA’s Senior Vice President for Grassroots and as Director of ABA’s Center for Community Development. Prior to ABA, James served as the Associate Deputy Administrator at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and as the Senior Advisor to SBA’s Deputy Administrator. Before SBA, James worked nine years on Capitol Hill as Chief of Staff and Legislative Director (1993–1998) to former House Banking Committee member Maryland Congressman Albert Wynn (D-MD) and as Legislative Director (1989-1992) to former New York Congressman Frank Horton (R-NY).

Jelena McWilliams, Chairman, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
Jelena McWilliams currently serves as the 21st Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Previously, she was Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to joining Fifth Third Bank, Ms. McWilliams worked in the United States Senate for six years, most recently as Chief Counsel and Deputy Staff Director with the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, and previously as Assistant Chief Counsel with the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. From 2007 to 2010, Jelena served as an attorney at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Before entering public service, she practiced corporate and securities law at Morrison & Foerster LLP in Palo Alto, California, and Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells LLP) in Washington, D.C. Ms. McWilliams graduated with highest honors from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in political science, and earned her law degree from U.C. Berkeley School of Law.

Delbert Hosemann, Lt. Governor, Mississippi
Elected in November 2007, the Honorable Delbert Hosemann serves as Mississippi’s eighth Secretary of State since 1900. He was re-elected to his third term in Office in 2015. In the short time since he was elected, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the integrity of Mississippi’s vote, ethically manage state lands to guarantee the future for our children, and make our State more business-friendly and attractive for economic development. Secretary Hosemann, along with his wife Lynn, is an advocate for and was instrumental in the successful effort to reform insurance laws in Mississippi to include coverage of treatment for autism. As a result, in 2015, H.B. 885 passed the Mississippi legislature, mandating health insurance policies to provide coverage for screening, diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder for children age two to eight. The law also created the Mississippi Autism Board, which is tasked with licensing behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts in the State.
Raised in Warren County, Mississippi, Secretary Hosemann comes to the position with a background in Business and Taxation Law. He has his undergraduate degree in Business from Notre Dame, a law degree from Ole Miss, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University. He is a former partner of Phelps Dunbar, LLP, and was selected to the Best Lawyers in America for 18 consecutive years. Secretary Hosemann also served his country in the United States Army Reserve.Secretary Hosemann has long served the citizens of the State of Mississippi. Delbert was Chairman of the Board of Mississippi Blood Services and Treasurer of the Jackson Medical Mall Association and served on the Board of Directors for Jackson State University Development Foundation. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and is a member of the North Jackson Rotary Club. Some of his accolades include the 2016 Mississippi Top 50 in the Elective / Appointed Government Officials Section Fellow, the George L. Phillips Community Service Awards from the U.S. Department of Justice in appreciation for his distinguished service as Chairman of Project Safe Neighborhoods, and for his efforts in the Hurricane Katrina First Responder Assistance Project. Delbert was also awarded the J. Tate Thigpen Award for exemplary leadership, support, and commitment to the American Red Cross.

Holly Hoffman, Leadership Speaker and Survivor Nicaragua contestant

Born and raised in Eureka, South Dakota, Holly Hoffman was the last remaining member of the Espada Tribe and the last woman standing on Season 21 of CBS’ hit reality show “Survivor Nicaragua”. Through that experience, and others throughout her life, Holly was inspired to share her message of positivity, determination and confidence with business leaders, teachers, and students across the nation.
A professional motivational speaker and the author of Your Winner Within, Holly acknowledges that life is made up of challenges, and we are oftentimes faced with situations that seem insurmountable. But within each of us is an ability to focus our thoughts, emotions, and energy to succeed—if only we have the knowledge, tools, and discipline to do so.
Holly’s writing and speaking not only offer encouragement and optimism but a roadmap for self discovery and spiritual enlightenment. Her methods—the ones she uses everyday in her own life—are intuitive, honest, and adaptable to nearly any situation. Readers and audience members alike walk away inspired to light the fire of successful living within themselves.
Today, Holly is a member of the National Speaker’s Association and travels across the country, speaking to schools and universities, healthcare organizations, women’s organizations, community leaders and business professionals. In her seven years of speaking, she has traveled to 31 states and been to 170 high schools. Holly inspires her audiences to take opportunities and focus on attitude, determination, confidence, desire, faith, and perseverance.

Paul is a speaker who thrives in building momentum and energy. He has said and done a lot of things that won’t impact how you experience him here today so why bother going through them?
