Fair Lending and CRA Seminar

March 4 – 5, 2021

Popular compliance expert Bonita Jones will be providing a deep dive into the latest developments with fair lending and CRA. This conference is in response to feedback from the Compliance Conference. Thank you to our Compliance Guidance Sponsors, Premier Insights and Thomson Reuters, for their yearlong support of compliance events.

Agenda

March 4, 2021 (9-12 Noon) Fair Lending

Over the past few years, we have been functioning in a general “reg lite” environment, however, there is evidence that the climate may be changing. For example, in 2019 there was an uptick in the number of fair lending violations referred to the Department of Justice (DOJ). In addition, in 2020, a DOJ proposed consent order suggests, among other things, policy-driven violations remain.

The nature of some issues is particularly surprising and is no doubt influencing the scope of examinations. Join us as we explore:

• Issues that could influence your risk management priorities, and

• Practices to identify and mitigate fair lending risk exposures

Let’s see if our fair lending programs are “On the Money” or if we need to do a little retooling.

March 5, 2021: (9-10:30) Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

The industry is facing a paradigm shift with a new CRA rule for OCC-regulated banks. Additionally, other banks could face changes as the FRB issued its own advanced notice of proposed rulemaking to solicit comment on its vision of CRA Reform.

Collectively, three development impacting the industry suggest CRA risk management is becoming more challenging:

• Implementation of the OCC’s final rule

• Uncertainty regarding other potential regulatory changes

• Issues arising out of the current environment that could impact CRA performance Is there a playbook to manage through the challenges?

Join us as we review it…even as it evolves!
