 Matthew Hall Elected to MYB Council 

Hall to serve on Mississippi Young Bankers Council

 

Natchez banker Matthew Hall has been elected to the Executive Council of the Mississippi Young Bankers, a section of the Mississippi Bankers Association.


Since 1950, Mississippi Young Bankers has been active in providing leadership development activities, supporting financial literacy programs of the MBA and its member banks. MYB members are involved in administering scholarship programs for high school and college students, supporting the MBA Education Foundation, and advocating policy positions important to a strong banking industry.


Hall serves as Senior Vice President at United Mississippi Bank, where he has been since 2012. Hall began his career in banking at UMB after graduating from the University of Mississippi with his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2010, and then earning his MBA from Alcorn State University in 2011. Hall also completed the Graduate School of Banking at LSU in 2023.


Prior to his role on the MYB Council, Hall has been actively involved with the MYB through his participation in MYB annual conventions and leadership conferences, as well as through the “A Banker in Every Classroom,” an initiative led by the MYB to promote financial literacy in K-12 classrooms throughout the state. Hall has also attended the MBA’s Washington DC fly-in trips.


Hall is active in his community, serving on the board of several organizations including the Natchez-Trace Kiwanis Club, the Natchez Young Professionals and the Chamber of Commerce. Hall served as Chairman of the Board for the Chamber of Commerce in 2020-2021. He also serves on the finance committee at Jefferson Street Methodist Church and is a past board member of Beau Pre Country Club. Hall also enjoys volunteering in local youth sports, coaching youth league basketball as well as providing radio commentary for Cathedral High School football and basketball.


In 2024, Hall was named to The Independent Banker’s Top 40 under 40: Community Leaders List by the ICBA.


Hall and his wife Elizabeth have three daughters, Abigail, Caroline, and Madeline.
